Recognizing the public interest threat from a decline in candidates entering the CPA profession, the California Board of Accountancy (CBA) held a special stakeholder meeting May 17 for an update on its SURE CPA (Students Understanding the Requirements to be a Certified Public Accountant) initiative and a resulting proposed licensing framework.
